Собственно, Richard David James (born 18 August 1971), best known by his stage name Aphex Twin, is a British electronic musician and composer. He has been described by The Guardian as «the most inventive and influential figure in contemporary electronic music», and is the co-founder of Rephlex Records with Grant Wilson-Claridge. Aphex Twin’s album Selected Ambient Works 85-92 was called the best album of the 1990s by FACT Magazine.
Там много что написано. Не то что биография-дискография-и сэмплы, а даже и Equipment – как хард так и софт (большой список). С моей стороны дело тут частно-личное, последнее, что я у него знал — Drukqs, 2001-го, хороший. Тут именно что субъективно: с музыкой примерно этого типа я все время имею дело (как стилистически близкой), Drukqs мне были тогда кстати. Но после я за ним не следил и как-то даже решил, что у него все тихо затухло. А теперь случайно обнаружил в ютубе вот эти Aphex Twin — Selected Ambient Works Vol. 4 (2015), к которым даже в названии приделано «user48736353001 compilation pt2»
Собственно, он и затухал. То есть, последовательность была такой ( там еще и другие его проекты, кроме Aphex’а). Partial discography:

По поводу длительного отсутствия так: Richard D James released a compilation album, 26 Mixes for Cash (2003), and the penultimate instalment of an extended play series titled Analord under the Aphex Twin pseudonym. A selection of tracks from Analord were later released on the compilation album Chosen Lords (2006). A long absence followed, during which time James ceased releasing Aphex Twin material and only performed occasional disc jockey sets in the United Kingdom and Europe. He also relocated to rural Scotland, where he constructed a recording studio.

Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments pt2 and a collection of 155 unreleased tracks were released in early 2015. The tracks were uploaded by James to several Soundcloud accounts under different usernames, including user487363530, user4873635301 and user48736353001. Though there was initial speculation as to the authenticity of the recordings, James’ friend and collaborator Mike Paradinas confirmed that the tracks were legitimate. The Guardian ’s Stuart Aitken drew comparisons between the surprise online releases and the promotional campaign for Syro, calling them «the latest example of a new willingness on the part of Aphex Twin to embrace digital media in very unexpected ways» and «explor[ing] the creative possibilities offered by the internet».
